If you are using the default cache then simply install LRCC and when launched on your mac, appropriate sized previews will be downloaded. This is the most efficient way to use LRCC with your only original being in the cloud. If you select the option in preferences to store a copy locally; that will obviously use more disk space.
Yeah, I know the usual way is to just install on the new Mac and let it download things from the Adobe cloud. I was just wondering if there is a more efficient way to transfer the photos data locally. Thanks though.
The local cache is the 'Lightroom Library.lrlibrary' package in your Pictures folder. You could try copying that to the new computer and see if Lightroom CC recognizes it and will use it rather than downloading the assets.
